New School Policy: Doors Locked

Chris Jung, Staff Writer

Moanalua High School has implemented a new rule for classrooms: locked doors. This means that classroom doors will be locked during classes, so no one can come in without someone opening the door for them. This new rule was implemented for safety reasons, mainly to prevent an intruder from entering the classroom.

Safety is the utmost priority, and comes with the consequence of distraction for both students and teachers. Most times, teachers will have to open the door when students enter and exit the classroom (such as using the restroom) and students can get distracted with the knocking and opening and closing of doors.

This new rule is a step in the right direction because student safety is the priority.
