Ka Laehaokela
November 30, 2022
Laehoakela means rhinoceros in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi. The rhino is from the deserts of Africa and stands at 6 feet tall and 12-14 feet long. The rhino is a solitary animal as it spends most of its time alone. The rhino spends most of its day grazing on grass and lounging underneath trees. According to Hawaiians, the rhino is a very foolish animal because it cannot teach itself. Thank you for reading our newspaper column, mahalo.
