Learn about scholarships, register for the virtual financial aid night

Benjamin Carlos, Staff Writer

Don’t miss out on virtual financial aid night. The meeting will take place on Zoom today, September 7 at 6:00 p.m. Students and parents will be given useful tips on how to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). And learn how to get access to $150 billion in grants, loans, and work-study funds from the federal government to help pay for college. Anyone can get scholarships from this program regardless of family income.

“Each student planning to attend college, whether a two-year or a four-year college, needs to complete the FAFSA,” College and Career Counselor Tricia Apana said. “Knowing where to look for scholarships will help in the search process.”

This event will give everyone the chance to find and apply for scholarships to aid in paying off college fees. Even if you miss today’s meeting, there is a meeting every Wednesday at 6 p.m. starting today all the way to mid-October. Just one meeting can help, start now before it’s too late. You must register in advance to attend. Register here: hawaii.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_FP26fUFaToGQhlmi8co1dQ
