The Moanalua High School girls soccer team is undefeated this season.

Moanalua’s Menehune soccer team has dominated this season and are currently in the No. 1 spot in the OIA Eastern Division.  The team sits at 10-1-1 (9-0 in the league), with their only loss being Kaiser.  They lead the division in points as well, at 27.

Throughout the past 11 games, Moanalua was only scored on twice, with the rest being blocked by their outstanding goal keeper junior Marissa Lam.

The girls soccer team shows great discipline by easily finding their mistakes and quickly fixing them. Their top scoring leaders are Ryah Echavaria with thirteen goals, Krislyn Uyeda with six goals, and Taylor Thomas with three goals.

“Over the course of the season, we learned how to work together,” senior Gabby Tomaszek said. “Now that we are in the tournament, we are looking pretty strong, and I’m excited to see how we do.”

The girls started the OIA Playoffs strong this week by winning their first game against Pearl City 1-0 this past Tuesday. Their next game is tonight against Campbell High School at 7:00 p.m. tonight. The game will be held at Kapolei High School.
