The Moanalua boys basketball team celebrated Senior Night by defeating OIA East rival Roosevelt High School Friday night 65-57.  After four straight losses, Na Menehune (4-4 league, 8-17 overall) came back to even the regular season.

A strong first half was enough to hold off the Rough Riders, who outscored Moanalua in the third quarter and tied them at 18 points in the fourth quarter.

Gavin Pommarenk led the team with 20 points, 12 of them came on four three-point shots. Michael Barcelona contributed 13 points, and Isaiah Kimbrough and Quincy Melville each added eight points.

At the end of the game, the team honored its nine seniors: Michael Barcelona, Gaven Guerrero, Ryan Lazaro, Quincy Melville, Austin Oguma, Gavin Pommarenk, Malachi Savage, Davin Shin, and Jahle’el Small.
