Na Menehune swim team is looking to make waves in the pool at this weekend’s OIA Varsity Swim Championships. At last week’s OIA Eastern Division championships at the Veteran’s Memorial Aquatic Center at Central Oahu Regional Park (CORP), both boys and girls teams put up times that put them in contention with other public schools across the island.

Junior Nathaniel Wilson placed first in the 200 yard individual medley (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle). He also swam the third leg of the boys 200 yard medley relay with Kai Ishihara, Hoyt Fujihara, and Christian Del Orbe that placed second overall with a time of 1:49.89.

Partial list of other events Moanalua has qualified for this weekend’s OIA Championships:

Girls 200 yard medley relay (Hana Lilly, Sophia Posch, Jezreel Mangrobang, Abby Blythe)

Girls 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard freestyle (Ellie Dallas)

Boys 50 yard freestyle (Del Orbe, Fujihara, and Ishikawa)

Girls 200 yard freestyle relay (Dallas, Blythe, Silas Buryak, Isabelle Kees)

Girls 100 yard backstroke (Kees)

Boys 100 yard backstroke (Wilson)
