The status of TikTok in the U.S. faces another change of plans.

Saturday evening The Department of Commerce announced that President Trump approved of the deal between TikTok and Oracle, delaying the transaction ban by another week.

The ban was announced on Friday September 18th and was supposed to take effect tomorrow Sunday, September 20. Trump’s announcement came hours before the ban. The deal is to include Oracle, an American computer software company, and Walmart.

This proposal would address Trump’s concerns around national security as Oracle would withhold all U.S. user data.
